RECAP: DIAA Girls High School 2021 State Basketball Tournament for 3-5-21

DIAA STATE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT 2021 – MAR 05 – Ursuline 54 defeated Newark Charter 20
Senior Lauren Dorsey scored a game high 15 points to lead 5th seed Ursuline Academy (11-4) to a 54-20 victory over Newark Charter in the 3rd Round of the DIAA Girl’s Basketball Tournament. Emily Rzucidlo added 9 points for the Raiders, who will face 4 seed Caravel Academy on Monday in quarterfinal action. Samira Morgan led the Patriots with 9 points.
The Lady Royals traveled to Wilmington, Delaware for the 7th time this year to face off against the #2 seeded Conrad Red Wolves. It was an incredible display of tough defense from both teams as the Lady Royals prevailed to a victory of 47-45. Sierra Troyer led all scorers with 18 points 7 rebounds and 2 steals. Grace Fetterman also contributed 14 points 6 assists 4 steals and a block
Sophmore Ainsley Bell chipped in with 9 points 3 rebounds 6 assists 4 rebounds and 2 blocks. This was also Coach Roach’s 50th career win (50-12) and the most wins in playoffs in school history. They will travel to Woodbridge for a chance to compete for a Final Four berth on Monday.
