DELAWARE BLUE COATS TO HOLD OPEN TRYOUTS

The Delaware Blue Coats, NBA G League Affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, will hold open tryouts ahead of the 2021-22 NBA G League season. All participating players will be evaluated by Philadelphia 76ers and Delaware Blue Coats basketball operations staff. Registration includes an official Blue Coats tryout jersey, four tickets to a future Blue Coats game and team merchandise.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 3 at Chase Fieldhouse (401 Garasches Lane, Wilmington, DE), the Blue Coats’ home arena. Participants can select from two available tryout sessions: Session 1 (8:00-11:00 a.m.) and Session 2 (1:00-4:00 p.m.). All participants are subject to a $200 registration fee.
Per NBA G League requirements, all players attending an open tryout must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. For purposes of these rules, an individual is considered fully vaccinated beginning seven days after receiving the second dose of a Pfizer or Moderna vaccination or 14 days after receiving the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Please note all registration material, including proof of COVID-19 vaccination, must be completed and submitted to the Delaware Blue Coats no later than three days prior to the event.

All prospective participants MUST pre-register by Thursday, Sept. 30 at 5:00 p.m.
No walk-up registration will be permitted.
No spectators will be permitted at the event.

The Blue Coats are set to return to Chase Fieldhouse for the team’s 2021-22 home opener on Saturday, Nov. 6. Five other select home game dates have been announced and details can be found at SIXERS.COM/BlueCoats. The full 2021-22 Blue Coats game schedule is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
The 2021-22 campaign brought the Blue Coats success at the NBA G League Single Site at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, highlighted by a trip to the NBA G League Finals. Delaware reached the postseason for the first time in franchise history with a regular season record of 10-5. The 76ers’ Paul Reed, who signed a standard NBA contract following the Blue Coats season, was named league MVP and Rookie of the Year with averages of 22.3 points, 11.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.8 blocks per game. Reed was also named to the All-NBA G League First Team, All-Rookie Team and All-Defensive Team.
