Electric Fan Giveaway to Help City Seniors Beat the Summer Heat

The City of Wilmington is taking proactive steps to ensure its senior residents stay cool and safe this summer by offering free electric fans. Mayor Purzycki, in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services, announced the initiative which will begin on Tuesday, June 11. Eligible seniors can collect their free fans every Tuesday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services, located on the 7th floor of the Redding Government Building at 800 North French Street.

This effort aims to provide relief during the sweltering summer months, particularly to those most vulnerable to heat-related illnesses.
