**Rep. Blunt Rochester Highlights Federal Investments in Combatting Homelessness and Youth Behavioral Health**
Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) and U.S. Senator Tom Carper (D-Del.) joined New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer in New Castle County, Delaware, to spotlight federal funding aimed at addressing pressing local issues, including homelessness and youth behavioral health.
At the New Castle County Hope Center, Blunt Rochester, Carper, and Meyer announced significant federal funding secured for the center. This funding is earmarked for essential capital improvements and the continuation of transportation services for residents. The Hope Center, a critical facility in the community, provides shelter and support for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The investment is expected to enhance the center’s capacity to serve its residents effectively.
Following the Hope Center announcement, Blunt Rochester and Carper visited Nemours Children’s Health to celebrate federal funding for the Innovative Mental Health Pathways for Adolescent and Child Therapists (IMPACT) Program. This program, a key initiative in training behavioral health therapists, aims to bolster the mental health workforce to better address the needs of children and adolescents in the region. The celebration included recognition of various other federally funded training programs that contribute to the development of the youth mental and behavioral health workforce.
These events underscored the commitment of Rep. Blunt Rochester and Sen. Carper to leveraging federal resources to support critical community services and enhance the well-being of Delaware residents.
