Senators Chris Coons and Lisa Blunt Rochester have joined the Senate Democratic Caucus in reintroducing the Paycheck Fairness Act, which seeks to combat pay discrimination and close the gender pay gap. The legislation strengthens the Equal Pay Act of 1963 by ending pay secrecy, enhancing remedies for employees, and requiring employers to prove pay disparities are job-related. Despite the Equal Pay Act’s passage over six decades ago, women still earn less than men, with Delaware women earning only 87% of what men make.
