Registration Open for Wilmington’s 2022 Spring College Tour Presented by the Department of Parks and Recreation

Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki and Parks and Recreation Director Ian R. Smith today encouraged high school students in grades 10, 11, and 12 to apply for the City-sponsored Spring College Tour. Beginning on Tuesday, April 19, and continuing through Friday, April 22, 2022, students will visit colleges in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia. The cost for City of Wilmington residents (Who must reside within City limits) is $150; $175 for non-City residents. The price includes hotel, transportation, daily breakfast, and snack.
A non-refundable deposit of $75 for City residents/$80 non-City residents is due by Friday, April 8, 2022.
“I encourage our young people looking to pursue their education beyond high school to apply today for this chance to visit in person a number of excellent schools located in our region,” said Mayor Purzycki. “From the beginning, my administration has put an emphasis on increasing educational opportunities for our youth, and initiatives such as the annual College Tour, the Mayor’s Scholarship Program, and the enormously successful HBCU Week have helped hundreds of young people pursue their dream of attaining a college education. In so doing, they are able to set themselves up for future career success, thereby transforming their lives and bettering their communities.”
The Spring College Tour 2022 will visit the following schools:
•St. Joseph’s University (PA)
•University of Maryland Eastern Shore (MD)
•Salisbury State University (MD)
•Old Dominion University (VA)
•Norfolk State University (VA)
•University of Richmond (VA)
