February 10, 2025

Local Veteran Colin Howard Recognized for Service, Receives Financial Support for Home Repairs

WILMINGTON, Del. — Colin Howard, a Wilmington resident and military veteran, received a $5,000 award as part of InHouse’s Help on the Homefront campaign, a month-long initiative designed to assist veterans facing housing challenges or in need of critical home improvements.

The campaign, spearheaded by InHouse™—a premium cannabis brand under the umbrella of Delaware’s pioneering cannabis operator, First State Compassion—invited veterans across the state to submit personal stories detailing their service and how they would utilize the financial support if selected. Howard’s compelling narrative stood out among the entries, earning him the top spot in Delaware’s segment of the campaign.

The official check presentation took place outside Howard’s Wilmington home, where he shared insights into his military journey and outlined plans for the funds, which he intends to use for essential home repairs. “This means the world to me,” Howard said, expressing gratitude for the unexpected support. “It’s not just about the money; it’s about recognizing our stories and the struggles we face even after service.”

Danielle Belle, an InHouse brand representative and veteran herself, was on-site to present the check and speak about the campaign’s mission. “We created Help on the Homefront to give back to those who have given so much,” Belle said. “It’s about supporting our veteran community in meaningful ways, and Colin’s story is just one of many that deserve recognition.”
