Blue Coats Acquire Newark Delaware Native Nate Hickman and sign Terrence Drisdom

WILMINGTON – JAN. 15, 2019 – The Delaware Blue Coats, the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, announced today that the team has acquired Terrence Drisdom and Nate Hickman from the available player pool. Additionally, Cory Jefferson has been released from his G League contract in order to pursue an international opportunity.
Drisdom is a 6-foot-5 guard who appeared in five games for the Memphis Hustle this season after spending last season in Japan with the Hiroshima Dragonflies. Drisdom’s NBA G League experience also includes two seasons (2015-17) with the Santa Cruz Warriors. In 69 career games with Santa Cruz, he averaged 5.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 17.8 minutes per game. Drisdom also participated in the 2015 NBA Summer League with the Orlando Magic, averaging 4.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in 17.8 minutes per game.
The 26-year-old Drisdom played his college basketball at Cal Poly Pomona from 2010-15. As a redshirt senior for the Broncos in 2014-15, he averaged 16.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 32.1 minutes per game and was named the CCAA Player of the Year as well as an NABC Division II All-American.
Hickman is a 6-foot-4 guard who played his college basketball at Columbia University. As a senior for the Lions last season, he averaged 8.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 27.2 minutes per game. Hickman started all 27 games in each of his junior and senior seasons at Columbia.
A native of Newark, Delaware, Hickman attended Blue Coats’ open tryouts prior to this season. He participated in G League training camp with the Long Island Nets.
Jefferson appeared in 22 games with 17 starts for the Blue Coats this season. He averaged 9.2 points and 5.0 rebounds in 24.0 minutes per game. The Blue Coats retain Jefferson’s returning rights per the terms of the team’s Oct. 16 three-team trade with the Texas Legends and Agua Caliente Clippers.
